History:

Dr. Baolei Wang obtained his Ph.D. degree in pesticide science at Nankai University in 2004 under the supervision of Professor Zhengming Li. Then he stayed in Nankai University working on the basic research of pesticide innovations and teaching for undergraduates. From 2015 to 2016, he served as a visiting scholar at University of Alberta performing research on new organic synthetic methodology under the supervision of Professor Frederick G. West related to cyclic allenes and the Nazarov electrocyclization chemistry. During his working in the Nankai University since 2004, he taught courses of “Organic Chemistry” and “Organic Chemistry Experiments”. His research work mainly focus on the design, synthesis and SAR study of novel organic compounds that have potential biological properties such as herbicidal, insecticidal and fungicidal activities, which target at special enzymes, e.g. ketol-acid reductoisomerase (KARI), for crop protection use. He has chaired and accomplished the research work of some projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the Specialized Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education and Tianjin Natural Science Foundation; has participated in a lot of projects, such as the national “863” and “973” programs, Australia international cooperation project, the National (Key) Natural Science Foundation of China, Tianjin University / Nankai University joint project, and cooperation research projects with Dow Chemical Company and Aberjona Laboratories, Inc.. Currently he is chairing two projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has 60 papers been published and 15 patents been applied. He now is a member of young editorial board of Chinese Chemical Letters, and reviewer of Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Pest Management Science, Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and the Related Elements, Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry, etc.

In 2012, won the second prize of outstanding scientific research achievements in the Universities of Zhejiang Province.
