Prof. Wang Liang focus on the total synthesis of complex natural products, medicinal chemistry and target exploration based on natural products. He has guided students to complete the total synthesis of 21 complex natural products, and provided a number of small molecular entities for the in vivo animial experiments (renal fibrosis, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, colon cancer, and acute lung injury). One anti-renal fibrosis candidate compound has been approved for Phase I clinical ethics and enrolled in Phase I clinical trials. Meanwhile, employing natural products as templates and based on structure-activity relationships, Prof. Wang designed several bioactive probes, which provided molecular tools for exploring new targets.
