Scientific Achievements & Selected Publications

The development of high-performance analytical methods is key to biomedical analysis and clinical diagnosis. It remains a formidable challenge to extract target signals from complex biological systems. In recent years, my research work focuses on the recording of weak target signals from complex biological systems. To do this, we proposed two new strategies, including (1) using exogenous groups (e.g., nitrile and alkyne groups) for background-free Raman analysis to eliminate the possible interference of biological background signals, so as to improve the signal-to-background ratio of complex system analysis; (2) proposing stimulus-response probes to improve the specificity and stability of the probe in complex systems. Besides, we developed a set of colloidal gold nanoparticle-based immunoassays for the rapid diagnosis of major diseases, such as cancers. In the past few years, we are interested in the labeling and detection of extracellular vesicles due to their essential roles in disease diagnosis.

Our research interests mainly include: 1) background-free Raman spectroscopy, 2) stimulus-responsive biosensing system, 3) high-sensitivity assays for rapid analysis, and 4) labeling and analysis of extracellular vesicles.
