The 2024 International Frontier Summer Programme of Nankai University was held in July for 4 weeks, offering nearly 40 face-to-face courses in foreign languages.

The ‘Global Nankai’ Summer Cloud Classroom was launched simultaneously, inviting experts and scholars from world-renowned universities such as the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, and the National University of Singapore to offer 30 English online courses around four themes: international perspective and cultural consciousness, composite professional perspective, cross-cultural practical skills, and cutting-edge art understanding. This will provide students with personalized, distinctive, and diverse learning cloud experiences during the international cutting-edge primary school period.

In addition, the International Frontier Summer Programme of Nankai University is also open to some high school graduates in Tianjin for free. More than 300 high school graduates from 70 high schools in Tianjin have registered to participate.

Chen Jun, on behalf of Nankai Univeristy, warmly welcomes teachers and students from home and abroad who will participate in International Frontier Summer Programme. He said that Nankai University has always been committed to cultivating high-quality talents with international vision and global competence. Establishing an international cutting-edge primary school is an important measure to implement the ‘Nankai Excellent Public Talent Training System 3.0’ and achieve ‘integration of Chinese and foreign’. Future schools will continue to deepen international cooperation and exchanges, providing students with more international learning opportunities and platforms.

John Leon Kiappes, a professor at Oxford University and the University of London, and chairman of the International Chemistry Olympiad Steering Committee, said in his speech that The 2024 International Frontier Summer Programme at Nankai University has built a platform for sharing educational achievements, promoting cultural exchange and friendship. He hopes that students can fully learn and exchange ideas, and enhance their cross-cultural and interdisciplinary learning abilities.

It is reported that in recent years, Nankai University has comprehensively improved the quality of independent talent cultivation through a series of measures such as education and teaching reform, and introduced the ‘Nankai Excellent Public Talent Training System 3.0’, focusing on creating a three-dimensional integration and five education integrated talent training model. In order to broaden students' international perspectives and enhance their global competence, Nankai University has implemented the Excellent Nankai Global Competence Enhancement Plan, and one of its important measures is to open an international cutting-edge primary school period during the summer vacation.
