On December 7, the Lecture Hall of Foreign Experts of Nankai University was successfully held at the lecture hall of the Shixian Building of the College of Chemistry. Prof. Raza Shah from the University of Karachi,  was invited to Nankai to give a lecture entitled Supramolecular Methods in Delivery Systems. Ding Dan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Nankai University, and Zhao Dongbing, vice Dean of the College of Chemistry of Nankai University, attended the event and issued a letter of appointment to Professor Raza Shah as a Guest Professor of Nankai University. More than 60 teachers and students from the School of Chemistry attended the lecture.

In this academic lecture, Professor Raza Shah introduced the long-term and deep international cooperation between him and Guo Dongsheng's group in the College of Chemistry. He emphasized that the cooperation between the two sides has made significant progress, and this has laid a solid foundation for wider academic exchanges in the future. Then, Professor Raza Shah explained in detail the supramolecular drug delivery system based on liposomes and macrocyclic amphiphiles, especially in oral drug delivery, microneedle drug delivery and overcoming cell drug resistance. He explained how this system can effectively improve the bioavailability of drugs, improve the targeting of drugs, and effectively reduce side effects. In addition, Professor Shah also shared his research results in disease models such as rheumatoid arthritis and wound healing. His presentation provided valuable academic inspiration for the researchers and students present and stimulated a strong interest in the development of future drug-delivery technologies.

In the Q&A session of the lecture, Professor Raza Shah had an in-depth discussion and interaction with teachers and students of Nankai, and had a warm exchange on topics such as batch reproducibility of nanomedicines, the application of microneedling and other therapeutic methods in drug delivery systems, and how nanomedicines can overcome cell drug resistance.
