1、   Relying on Nankai Chemistry, aiming for more support

The Overseas Excellent Youth Science Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (hereinafter referred to as NSFC Overseas Excellent Youth, is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, aiming to attract and encourage outstanding young scholars from various countries and regions to work in China. The applicants are expected to have achieved remarkable results in natural sciences, engineering and technology worldwide. The purpose of the ‘programme’ is to encourage scholars to independently choose research directions and conduct innovative research, to promote the rapid growth of young scientific and technological talents, by relying on relevant Chinese domestic universities to provide support for cultivating outstanding academic backbones at the forefront of science and technology of the world.

The chemistry major at Nankai University is one of the earliest, Nankai Chemistry has a history of 105 years. Nankai University is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education and the alma mater of the first Premier of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Enlai. It is a university under the construction of the Double First Class, 211 Project, and 985 Project by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Nankai University is one of the comprehensive and research-oriented universities in China with a complete range of disciplines.

Every generation of Chinese top leaders have visited Nankai University Chemistry throughout. Currently, the ESI ranking of Nankai University's Chemistry discipline tends to be one in ten thousand, and the citation frequency and total citation frequency of academic papers are among the top in the world.

2. Requirements and benefits

For the application requirements of relying on Nankai Chemistry to apply for the Overseas Excellent Youth project, please refer to the NSFC Guide, such as: the applicant complies with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, has good scientific ethics, and was born on or after January 1, 1985; Having a doctoral degree; After obtaining a doctoral degree and before the application deadline in 2025, one should generally hold a formal teaching or research position in overseas universities, research institutions, or corporate research institutions, and have at least 36 consecutive months of work experience; For those who have obtained a doctoral degree overseas and have outstanding performance, the work experience requirements may be appropriately relaxed; Obtain scientific research or technological achievements recognized by peer experts, and have the potential to become academic leaders or outstanding talents in the field. The applicant has not yet returned to China for full-time, or will return to China for work after January 1, 2024.

Applicants shall obtain long term career establishment at Nankai Chemistry. During the initial employment period, 2 doctoral student quotas and 2 master's student quotas will be provided annually to support the recruitment of assistants (postdoctoral fellows). Schools and colleges will adopt strong and long-term support and training measures, providing competitive introduction benefits in terms of salary, research funding, housing subsidies and settling in allowances, research platform construction, international training and support, etc. In addition, research performance salary can be combined, as well as overseas high-level talent tax subsidy policies.
