On the morning of May 1, 2026, amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the ongoing China-Russia Education Year, Professor Zhirnov Artem, the Deputy Dean of the Chemistry Faculty at Lomonosov Moscow State University, along with Associate Professor Sybachin Andrei, visited the College of Chemistry at Nankai University. Academician Chen Jun, the Executive Vice President of Nankai University and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Cheng Fangyi, the Dean of the College of Chemistry, and Vice Dean Yuan Mingjian warmly received the two Russian scholars at the Key Laboratory of Advanced Energy Materials Chemistry (Ministry of Education).

Academician Chen Jun, on behalf of Nankai University, extended a warm welcome to Professor Zhirnov Artem and Dr. Sybachin Andrei. He briefly introduced the overall situation of Nankai University and highlighted the outstanding strengths and significant achievements of the College of Chemistry in the field of special chemical power sources in recent years. Academician Chen Jun emphasized that the College of Chemistry at Nankai University, as a leading force in the domestic chemistry discipline, has always adhered to the principle of open cooperation and is committed to promoting international exchanges and cooperation in chemical education and research. Dean Cheng Fangyi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the two scholars from the Chemistry Faculty of Moscow University and highly praised the remarkable achievements of the faculty in the field of chemistry. He introduced the latest research progress of the College of Chemistry in areas such as polymer chemistry and so on, particularly emphasizing the leading position and international educational experience of the College of Chemistry at Nankai University. Dean Cheng expressed his hope that this visit would further deepen the understanding and friendship between the two universities, expand areas of cooperation, and elevate the level of collaboration.

As an expert in lithium and sodium polymer electrolytes, Associate Professor Sybachin Andrei also shared his latest research results and insights in the field of electrochemistry. He expressed that China and Russia have a broad foundation for cooperation and enormous potential for collaboration in the field of chemistry. He hoped that this visit would further promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities in areas such as electrochemistry and jointly drive the research, development, and application of related technologies.
